Elijah's Return
Bible prophecy is particularly relevant or appropriate for today.
The things that our Lord spoke of in the 24th chapter of Matthew, all seem
to be growing in frequency and intensity, just as Jesus said they would. Evidence
keeps mounting, revealing that we are the last generation --- the one that
will see Jesus come at the Rapture (the first phase of His Second Coming).
People in the United States have not seen the horrible calamities that the
rest of the world has seen. Europe and Asia were devastated by two world wars.
There have been none on American ground. But, that all changed when the 19
terrorists viciously attacked Washington DC and New York on 9-11-2001. Over
3000 innocent civilians were brutally murdered, here on USA soil. This heinous
act actually declared an international war on terrorism.
In this war we are faced by enemies who cannot be seen or found because they
are cowards. They cover their faces so they can't be recognized. These maniacs
are religious fanatics who hate Israel and America. This war must be fought
for self preservation, and it must be fought with deadly force.
But, few people have taken notice of something that is taking place, in the
background, because of the terrorism. The nations of the world have been coming
together, and helping one another. The Bible predicts that in the last days
there would be a European confederation of nations, a revived Roman Empire.
The Berlin Wall came down in 1989, and ever since most of Europe has been
uniting. They still have their individual governments but they are leaning
toward a common governing body. The European Union (EU) has its own Parliament,
Council, Court, banks and more. It has a web site: www.europa.eu.int and it
is available in 11 languages.
Skeptics think that anyone who believes all this “nonsense” are
a bunch of fanatics. They say that people have been saying “Jesus is
going to return soon” for centuries, and He’s not here yet. They
think we’re loony! That's OK. Let them think what they may!
But, all TRUE born again Christians
live with this thought in our minds. Jesus shall return, and it could be at
any time. We believe that He will come and remove ALL TRUE believers at the
Rapture. 1 Thes. 4:13-17 But I would not have you to
be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not,
even as others which have no hope. [14] For if we believe that Jesus died
and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with
him. [15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which
are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which
are asleep. [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and
so shall we ever be with the Lord. [KJV] God will bring back with Jesus
all the Christians who have died. We who are still living when the Lord returns
will not rise to meet Him before those who have died. For the Lord Himself
will come down from Heaven with a shout, calling His own to Him. First, all
the Christians who have died will rise from their graves; a bodily resurrection.
Then we who are still alive and remain on the Earth will be caught up in the
clouds with them to meet the Lord in the air and remain with Him forever.
This is the hope of all believers! Titus 1:2 In hope
of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
[KJV]
Even a hundred years ago, it would have seemed impossible for a 200 million
man army from the Orient could get to a war in Israel. Rev. 9:16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand:
and I heard the number of them. [KJV] It would have seemed impossible
for an army of 200 million soldiers to fulfill this prophecy. BUT --- what
about now? Today? Would it be possible? YES! Absolutely!
A hundred years ago, there was no nation of Israel. She didn’t become
a state until 1948. A hundred years ago the Jewish people were still scattered
all through the world. And there was no way one government could rule over
all the Mediterranean nations. But, today things have changed drastically.
Rev. 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a
rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and
the altar, and them that worship therein. [KJV] John was instructed to
measure the Temple. A hundred years ago there was no Temple with not much
hope of there being one any time soon. But, today Israel has the plans to
rebuild the Temple almost completed. There are hundreds of young Jewish men
studying to be Levite priests. The Bible states there must be a Temple, so
the Temple must be built either before the Tribulation period, or during the
Tribulation.
The Lord has been very specific in telling us what events will take place
before He returns. Read Matthew 24 and Luke 21. One of those events that will
happen before the Lord comes is that the Gospel will be brought to all people.
The Bible has been translated into many different languages. Matthew 24:14 And this
gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto
all nations; and then shall the end come. [KJV] The Lord
could come at any time at the Rapture.
Christ IS coming! Count on it. And it may be soon. We must be
watching.
Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore:
for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. [KJV]
There’s a prophecy in Malachi that most preachers refuse to touch.
They consider it hard to believe and more difficult yet to understand. But
this will take place during the Tribulation, after the Rapture. This
shall happen!
Malachi 4:5-6 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: [6] And he shall
turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children
to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. [KJV]
The Book of Revelation speaks of two witnesses who are to appear in the last
days (Rev. 11:3–12). I do not know who the second witness will be, but
I feel sure that one of them will be Elijah. There is different views on who
the second one is. Many believe that it will be Moses. I cannot say yes or
no to this, for I simply do not know. All I know is that only two men were
raptured: Enoch and Elijah. To me, it is just common sense that the two witnesses
will be Enoch and Elijah, but, only God known for sure.
Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not;
for God took him. [KJV]
Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should
not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before
his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. [KJV] Translate
= transfer, transport, rapture.
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied
of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, [KJV]
2 Kings 2:1 And it came to pass, when the Lord would
take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from
Gilgal. [KJV]
2 Kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went
on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses
of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into
heaven. [KJV]
I also know what this verse says. Hebrews 9:27 And as
it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: [KJV]
Neither Enoch or Elijah died. And I know what this verse says. Rev.
11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast
that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and
shall overcome them, and kill them. [KJV] The two witnesses in Revelation
will eventually die. Because neither Enoch or Elijah died a physical death,
I have always thought that the two witnesses will be Enoch and Elijah, but
the Bible does not tell us specifically who the second witness will be. Elijah
will be one, and we’ll discuss that.
Malachi 4:5-6 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: [6] And he shall
turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children
to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. [KJV]
At the Passover Feast, in the orthodox Jew’s home, a chair is put at
the table in which no one sits. It is for Elijah who shall come. When John
the Baptist appeared, the Jews thought he was Elijah, but John the Baptist
was not Elijah. The Bible does say that he could have been, but he wasn’t.
IF Christ had established His Kingdom, then John would have been Elijah. How
could that be possible? I cannot answer that. But it didn’t happen that
way. No one can really answer that. “Behold, I will send you Elijah
the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”
John the Baptist was not the fulfillment of this prophecy because he was announcing
the Messiah, the Saviour of the world. John said, “… Behold
the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John
1:29). That is different from announcing that the great and terrible Day of
the Lord is coming.
Elijah to return! What a remarkable prophecy. Malachi said that just before
that great and terrible Day of the Lord (the last half of the Tribulation),
when God’s holy wrath would be poured out upon the Earth, God would
send Elijah the prophet back to Earth.
When God told John to “measure the Temple” in Rev.11:1,
there was no Temple. It had been destroyed in AD 70. Its destruction was predicted
by Jesus (Mat.24:1-2). There has been no Temple now for almost 2000 years.
But, in Revelation 11, in the first half of the Tribulation, there was a Temple
or John could not have measured it. God will now deal with the Jews.
There are many, preachers included, who say that God is done with the Jews.
That is NOT true! People say that God turned His back on
the Jews when they rejected Yeshua of Nazarath as their Messiah all those
years ago. People say that God replaced the Jews with the church of today.
That is NOT so! God has NOT cast off His
people! God loves the Jews just as much as He ever did, and He also loves
the church.
Jeremiah 31:35-37 Thus saith the Lord, which giveth
the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars
for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar;
The Lord of hosts is his name: [36] If those ordinances depart from before
me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a
nation before me for ever. [37] Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be
measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also
cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.
[KJV] NO one can measure the heavens or the foundation of
the Earth! Neither will God reject or do away with Israel any more than He
will do away with the laws of nature! God loves the Jews (Deut. 14:2; 26:18;
32:10; Zech.2:8; Ex.19:5; Ps.135:4). Far too many fail to realize this fact,
this truth.
In Matthew 24 & 25, Jesus outlines God’s last days plan for Israel,
even indicating that the nations of this world will be judged on how they
treat Israel during the Tribulation period.
The Letters in the New Testament have much to say about how God feels about
Israel as well. Rom.11:1-2 I say then, Hath God cast
away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham,
of the tribe of Benjamin. [2] God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew.
Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to
God against Israel, saying, [KJV] Even with all the wrongs they have
done, God still loves Israel.
Revelation tells us Israel plays a prominent role in history: past, present
and future. Chapter 7 tells us of a tremendous revival. God is NOT finished with His people. He will never let them down.
Testimony of the Two
Witnesses
Rev. 11:3-7 And I will give power unto my two witnesses,
and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed
in sackcloth. [4] These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks
standing before the God of the earth. [5] And if any man will hurt them, fire
proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man
will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. [6] These have power to
shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power
over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues,
as often as they will. [KJV] Almighty God Himself, is the One who will
give power to these two witnesses. The two olive trees represent channels
of the oil feeding the Church, and are symbols of the Holy Spirit and peace.
The two candlesticks (lampstands) represent lights shining brightly before
the powers of darkness. Being clothed in sackcloth means they will take their
job of reaching lost souls seriously. They will prophesy during the last 1,260
days of the Tribulation period.
No one will be able to touch these two prophets. If anyone
tries to harm them, they have the power of fire that flashes from their mouths,
and will consume their enemies. Anyone who tries to harm them will die.
These two also have power to shut the skies so that no rain will fall for
as long as they prophesy, and they have the power to turn the rivers and oceans
into blood, and to send every kind of plague imaginable upon the Earth as
often as they wish. Can you even begin to estimate the power of these two
men? And can you imagine how the unbelieving world will hate them?
Rev.11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony,
the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against
them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. [KJV] When they complete
their testimony, Antichrist will declare war against them. He will conquer
them and kill them. But, only when they finish their job!
Rev. 11:8-13 And their dead bodies shall lie in the
street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where
also our Lord was crucified. [9] And they of the people and kindreds and tongues
and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall
not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. [10] And they that dwell
upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts
one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the
earth. [11] And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered
into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which
saw them. [12] And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them,
Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies
beheld them. [13] And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the
tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven
thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
[KJV]
Below John sees the Antichrist, and John sees this same beast
later.
Rev. 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and
saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and
upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. [KJV]
Antichrist receives his power from Satan. Sea is a symbol of peoples, nations
(Isa.8:7; 17:12-13; Jer.47:2). Antichrist will be a Gentile.
Rev. 11:8-10 And their dead bodies shall lie in the
street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where
also our Lord was crucified. [9] And they of the people and kindreds and tongues
and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall
not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. [10] And they that dwell
upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts
one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the
earth. [KJV]
These two witnesses had been like salt in an open wound. The people of the
Earth will be sick and tired of hearing about these two prophets in newspapers
and seeing them on TV. So --- when Antichrist puts them to death, it will
be a great time of celebration, and he will be a hero. Everyone will breathe
a sigh of relief.
These men of God will not even given a decent burial. This shows the crude
and cold savageness of the last days which will be covered with but a thin
coating of culture. In other words, people will be hypocritical barbarians!
There is a eerie resemblance to the sadistic interest which placed two dead
men, Lenin and Stalin, on display in Red Square in Moscow.
The world will show contempt and hatred for the two witnesses. They will
be treated as dead animals. “The great city” is Jerusalem.
It is compared to Sodom by Isaiah (Isa. 1:10). It is called Egypt because
the world has entered into every fiber of its life . . . social and political.
It is absolutely identified as Jerusalem by the somber selection, “where
also our Lord was crucified.”
Rev. 11:11-13 And after three days and an half the Spirit
of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great
fear fell upon them which saw them. [12] And they heard a great voice from
heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in
a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. [13] And the same hour was there a
great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake
were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave
glory to the God of heaven. [KJV] While the world is still celebrating
the death of these witnesses, television cameras will be focused on them lying
dead in the street. All of a sudden, the witnesses will stand on their feet!
And all the networks will regret that they had their cameras on them, because
they really won’t want to give the news as it is. These two witnesses
are among the tribulation saints who have part in the first resurrection (Rev.
20:4–6).
A hundred years ago, it seemed impossible that the world would see the two
witnesses lying dead in the street, and three and a half days later, see them
rise again! But, with today's technology, we all know it can be done with
TV and the internet. ALL prophecies shall be
fulfilled!
Until recently, most Christian scholars tried to explain away Malachi 4:5.
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of
the great and dreadful day of the Lord:” They would try to connect
it with Malachi 3:1. “Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall
prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come
to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold,
he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.” Their reasoning: both
verses spoke of the same person, John the Baptist. They figured that Elijah’s
name was used in Malachi 4:5 because John the Baptist came “in the
spirit and power of Elijah” (Luke 1:17).
Matthew 17:12 But I say
unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done
unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer
of them. [KJV] They say Jesus said that Elijah had already
come, but the fail to quote the previous verse. Matthew 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias
truly shall first come, and restore all things. [KJV]
John the Baptist had already been beheaded. He was dead. Yet here, Jesus uses
a future tense verb to verify that Elijah shall first come, and restore all
things. Jesus is saying this is in the future, so it cannot refer
to John the Baptist, but instead Elijah (Elias). Jesus
said the Elijah would come, so he absolutely will come! Don’t doubt
it for a minute.
Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him
whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them,
is speaking of John the Baptist, yes. Elijah did come, but they killed him
Jesus said, and they are going to kill me too.
John 1:19-21 And this is the record of John, when the
Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? [20]
And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. [21]
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art
thou that prophet? And he answered, No. [KJV] John knew about Malachi’s
prophecy. Was he Elijah? No. He was not Elijah, but he was like him. Did John
the Baptist minister in the spirit and power of Elijah? Absolutely! But John
was not the fulfillment of Malachi 4. It will be Elijah, who is yet to come.
Just as with Revelation, it is best to interpret Scriptures literally, unless
it states it is symbolic.
Some people refuse to believe that Malachi 4 and Revelation 11 have any connection
whatsoever. They cannot see Elijah as being one of the two witnesses. Myself,
I truly believe Elijah will be one of the two witnesses. As I stated before,
Elijah never died (2 Kings 2:9-11) and it is appointed unto men once to
die (Heb.9:27). Also Elijah stopped it from raining for 3 1/2 years (1
Kings 17). That miracle is identical to one of the miracles in Rev.11.
And as I stated before I think it is quite possible that the other witness
is Enoch. No one knows for sure, this is just my opinion.
Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not;
for God took him. [KJV]
Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should
not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before
his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. [KJV] Translate
= transfer, transport, rapture.
Jude 1:14-15 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam,
prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of
his saints, [15] To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are
ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed,
and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. [KJV] It is my humble opinion that Enoch was the first man in the Bible who
was a prophet of God. Not only was he just a prophet, I believe he was a judgment
prophet, just like Elijah. The prophecy in Jude about him deals specifically
with the Second Coming of Christ. “Behold, the Lord cometh with
ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince
all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds.”
God told Enoch things about the Second Coming of Christ, long before the
First Coming --- when Jesus came as a Man. Enoch was only the 7th generation
from Adam, so that would be hundreds of years before Noah and the Flood.
Some say Enoch could not be the 2nd witness in Revelation 11 because he was
a Gentile. Certainly Enoch was a Gentile! There were no Israelites until Abraham,
and that was hundreds of years after Enoch. If you trace the Messianic line
from Adam to Christ, you will see there were many Gentiles listed.
The descendants of Seth (the Godly line), who lived before the Flood were
not Israelites, nor were they Jewish, but they absolutely were a part of God’s
plan. Not being a Jew does not disqualify Enoch from being
one of the witnesses.
Mission of the Two
Witnesses
Why will God send these two men to prophecy? To better understand why, we
should understand a little about the Great Tribulation Period. Tribulation
comes from a word thlibo, which actually means pressure. This future 7 year
period in history will take place just after the Rapture of the church (1
Thes.4:13-18), and just before the Millennial Kingdom will be established.
The reason for this time of pressure and troubles is to bring back to Himself,
the people of Israel. God will make it so difficult for them and give them
little choice but to obey Him. The purpose is to bring Israel back to the
God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and to show her that Yeshua (Jesus) is her
Messiah. Although the entire world will be effected and millions will perish,
the Tribulation will be primarily for Israel’s benefit. That’s
why Jeremiah calls it “the Time of Jacob’s (Israel) trouble (Jer. 30:7).
The Tribulation will be divided into two periods of 3 1/2 years each. This
reveals the accuracy of Scriptures when describing the timing of events that
will happen (Dan.7:25; 12:7). “A time, times, and an half”
means a year, two years and a half a year which is 3 1/2 years. This same
period is called forty and two months (Rev.11:2; 13:5), and a
thousand two hundred and threescore days (Rev. 11:3). The Jewish calendar
is based on a lunar year of 360 days. 1260 days on a Jewish calendar is exactly
3 1/2 years.
The first 3 1/2 year period will be a time of relative peace because Israel
is soothed into a false sense of security (1 Thes.5:3). Then the two-faced
Antichrist will break his peace treaty with Israel (Dan.9:27). “One
week” is equal to 7 years. So, in the middle of the 7 years (3
1/2 years), Antichrist will turn with a vengeance on srael.
Mat. 24:21 For then shall
be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to
this time, no, nor ever shall be. [KJV] When Jesus spoke
these words the church had not yet been born. He was speaking to His Jewish
disciples. To Jews.
During the last half of the Tribulation, persecution will become extremely
intense. Many tribulation saints will be martyred.
Rev. 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude,
which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues,
stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and
palms in their hands; [KJV] Remember, saints are true believers in Jesus. Only God can make a saint. NO man can make any person a saint, for only God knows truth which
lies in a person’s heart. The Jews will be forced to flee into
the wilderness. These will be fed by God, possibly as He did when Israel fled
Egypt years ago.
Rev. 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where
she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand
two hundred and threescore days. [KJV] God will have a place ready for
these Jews to come; many think it is the city of Petra.
Why does Satan hate the Jews so? She is among the smallest of nations in
the world, yet she is “the apple of God’s eye”
(Zech.2:8). Satan knows if he could destroy the entire Jewish people, he would
wipe out God’s plan; but, that will NOT happen!
Holocaust, is an Old Testament sacrificial term, used by historians to describe
the massacre of 6 million Jews by during World War II by Adolf Hitler. Methods
of killing at Auschwitz and other camps included ovens, cyanide gas or carbon
monoxide gas, electrocution, phenol injections, flame-throwers, and hand grenades.
Two-thirds of Europe's Jews had been murdered, more than had been slain during
the previous 1,800 years. Yet God kept a remnant. They were not all killed, nor will they ever be completely destroyed (Jerermiah 31:35-37;
Micah 5:7-8). The Antichrist will fail in his attempt to wipe out the Jews.
Much pressure and trouble will come from the Antichrist, but during the final
3 1/2 years there will be plagues, war, demons, and all kinds of supernatural
things happening in nature. It will be a time of dreadful evil and wickedness
that will be worldwide, such as this world has never seen (Mat.24:21).
It will be during the beginning of this final and horrific 3 1/2 years that
the two witnesses will appear. They will be supernaturally protected by God
Himself, until their mission is completed. These two prophets will witness
during the darkest and most dangerous time in history. They will have power
to perform whatever they desire.
Rev. 11:5-6 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth
out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt
them, he must in this manner be killed. [6] These have power to shut heaven,
that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters
to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as
they will. [KJV] They will be the most hated men on Earth for
the things they do, but they CANNOT be killed. They will preach the Gospel
wherever they go. With our communication system the way it is today, the whole
world will see them any time they turn on the TV.
Only when they finish the work God sent them to do, will Antichrist be able
to kill them.
Rev. 11:7-8 And when they shall have finished their
testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war
against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. [8] And their dead bodies
shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom
and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. [KJV]
This is the first mention of Antichrist in the Book of Revelation. When he
finally kills the two witnesses, people will rejoice.
Rev. 11:9-10 And they of the people and kindreds and
tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and
shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. [10] And they that
dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send
gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt
on the earth. [KJV] The people will be so happy that they are dead that
they won’t even bury the bodies. They will be left in the middle of
the street in Jerusalem for people to see. The world will know they are dead,
for they will see for themselves.
But --- 3 1/2 days later, the two prophets will be resurrected. Rev.
11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from
God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell
upon them which saw them. [KJV] The world will also see this
amazing event!
Rev. 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven
saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud;
and their enemies beheld them. [KJV] The witnesses will HEAR God calling
them to Heaven. And the world will SEE them rise up out of sight. Immediately
after they depart, a terrible earthquake will strike.
Rev. 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake,
and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men
seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God
of heaven. [KJV]
These events will bring on a series of judgments that will cause the salvation
of Israel. Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved:
as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn
away ungodliness from Jacob: [KJV]
The arrival of the Messiah will follow shortly.
Rev. 19:11-16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a
white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in
righteousness he doth judge and make war. [12] His eyes were as a flame of
fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no
man knew, but he himself. [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in
blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies which were
in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and
clean. [15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should
smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth
the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. [16] And he hath
on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF
LORDS. [KJV]
This is the reason that only two people in
history have left Earth without dying first. God will use them to bring His
message to Israel in the near future. They, like Jesus, will come only to
die. But, like Jesus, they too will experience resurrection, glorification
and ascension to Heaven.
