Blessings Promised By God to the Righteous

2 Samuel 22:22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. (KJV) . . . Have you obeyed the Lord? Or have you turned away from Him?

1 Kings 8:32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness. (KJV) . . .The Lord will punish the guilty ones as they deserve, and acquit all those who are innocent.

2 Kings 15:35 Howbeit the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD. (KJV) . . . People who worship false gods, will NOT be blessed, but instead cursed.

2 Kings 22:1-2 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath. 2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left. (KJV) . . . He was one of the best, if not the best, of all the Jewish kings since the time of David. He began well, continued well, and ended well. God blessed him.

Job 8:20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers: (KJV) . . . Just as sure as God will punish and root out the wicked, so too, will He defend and save the righteous. It's a Promise that God repeats many times in His Word!

Job 17:9 The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger. (KJV) . . . The righteous shall persist in that good way. He will not be turned from it by any afflictions which may befall him, nor by any contempt or reproach cast upon him by the ungodly. He that hath clean hands, is the person whose life and actions is holy and righteous; revealing his heart is right with God. Shall be stronger and stronger, these will not be shaken and discouraged by their afflictions, nor by the bitter censures and reproaches of hypocrites or wicked men. These people will continue on the narrow road (Mat.7:13-14), and made more firm in cleaving to God, and His ways no matter the difficulties and miseries.

Psalms 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. (KJV) . . . If we believe God, and truly desire to please Him, His ears are always open when we cry out to Him. He will never leave us, never forsake us. If we hope in His mercy, He will always be there to guide us in right paths. (Ps.32:8; 33:18).

Psalms 64:10 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory. (KJV) . . . God's TRUE children know that He does not abandon His followers. God will counteract the devices of the wicked to the good of the righteous, and defend and support His people.

Psalms 72:7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth. (KJV) . . . There was nothing but peace and prosperity all the days of Solomon: for, "In his days Judah and Israel dwelt safely; every man under his vine and under his fig-tree, from Dan even to Beersheba;" (1 Kings 4:25). A day is coming when Jesus will reign instead of Solomon. (Ps.2:6; 45:1; Isa.9:7; 32:1; Jer.23:5; Eze.21:27; 37:25; Dan.7:14; Mic.5:2; Zec.6:13; 9:9; Mat.2:2,6; 21:5; 25:34; 25:40; 27:11; 27:37; Rom.15:12; 1 Cor.15:25; Eph.1:22; 1 Tim.6:15).

Psalms 73:24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. (KJV) . . . This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible! What a Promise it is!

Psalms 92:12-13 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. (KJV) . . . The vigorous growth, longevity, fragrance and beauty of these noble trees, set forth as symbolic in the life, character and destiny of the righteous, quite different than the wicked (verse 7).

Psalms 119:1-3 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. 2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. 3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. (KJV) . . . The undefiled are the righteous who trust and obey God and strive to live a life that pleases Him. They do no iniquity knowingly or do they continue on a sinful course, like the wicked do (Job 31:3; 34:8; Ps.5:5; 6:8; 125:5; Pro.10:29; Luke 13:27). Their constant practice, and the general course of their lives, is commonly signified by walking, such as Psalm 1:1. God will never direct you in wrong paths!

Psalms 140:13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence. (KJV) . . . The righteous always have a reason to praise God! They shall dwell in securely, under God's protection (Ps.21:6; 41:12).

Psalms 146:8 The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous: (KJV) . . . He brings us out of our prison, delivers us from the shadow of death, and opens our eyes that we may see the light of Jesus. It is only the Lord Who can open the eyes of any sinning descendant of Adam, allowing him to see his wretchedness, and where help and salvation may be found. We get bowed down at times, through our guilt and sinfulness. The Lord loveth the righteous and He makes us partakers of His Divine nature.

Proverbs 2:6-7 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. (KJV) . . . God gives us wisdom and victory but we are not to drift through life or act irresponsibly with his gifts and resources. If we are faithful and keep our the right path, He will keep us from pride and greed. God is ready to assist us always (Jam.1:5; 4:8).

Proverbs 3:32 For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous. (KJV) . . . The froward are those who are perverse, who walk in sinful paths, directly opposed to the righteous man, who is called right or straight, (Deut.32:4; Pro.29:27). The froward is abomination to the Lord; God hates him, and sooner or later he will be extremely and eternally miserable. His secret is with the righteous; they are God's friends (Ps.25:14; John 15:15; Rev.2:17).

Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. (KJV) . . . The common course of the life of a righteous person is pure and spotless. The righteous daily grow more and more in knowledge, grace, comfort and love until one day all be perfected and allowed into Heaven. Thank You Jesus! (1 Cor.1:30).

Proverbs 12:13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. (KJV) . . . The get into trouble, by wicked words against God and men. The just thinks before speaking, thus being wise, whereby he is at peace with God and man.

Isaiah 3:10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. (KJV) . . . Though millions are faithless, this does not mean that there are none who are faithful. Many frogs' croaking is heard on the surface of a pond, but this does not mean there are no fish in the pond! (Isa.1:19-20). Fruit of doings: (Pro.1:31; Gal.6:8; Rev.22:14). We do NOT gain salvation by works, but by fruit-bearing faith (Eph.2:8-9).

Matthew 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. (KJV) . . . There are many clouds hovering everywhere: ungodly pretenders, hypocrites, claiming to be "Christian" but are destructive enemies to the cross of Christ (Phip.3:18). False preachers and false teachers bringing damnable heresies (2 Pet.2:1), preaching another gospel and another Jesus (2 Cor.11:4; Gal.1:6-7). BEWARE!!!

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (KJV) . . . Christ made it possible for us to go directly to God for forgiveness (Rom.5:1). BUT, confessing our sins to each other is still very important. #1 If we have sinned against an individual, we must ask him or her to forgive us. #2 If our sin has affected the church, we must confess it publicly. #3 If we need loving support as we struggle with a sin, or feel our faith waning, we should reach to those who are able to give us that support and assistance.

BUT, we need to remember that a human CANNOT forgive our sins. NO priest can forgive your sins! In Christ's Kingdom, every believer is a priest to other believers (1 Pet.2:9).

The Christian's most powerful resource is our fellowship with God and other believers. And, our communication with God through prayer is an awesome and powerful tool! The results of true, sincere prayer is often much greater than we thought were possible. Don't be like some people, who see prayer as a last resort when all else fails. That is absolutely backward. Prayer should come first. God's power and wisdom is so much greater than ours, it only makes sense to rely on it. God wants to hear from us, He wants to help us, and He encourages us to go to Him for help. One other extremely important thing to consider in prayer, THANK Him for what He has already done for you and for what He will do in the future! None of us thank or appreciate Him as we should!

1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. (KJV) . . . The Lord is the Protector of the righteous! The language here describes constant guardianship and loving care. He hears the prayers of the righteous. And since he hears us, we are at liberty to go to Him at all times, day or night, and to pour out our desires to Him. Peter quotes this Passage from Psalm 34:15. It is designed to show why a life of piety will contribute to length of days.

When Jesus died on the cross for us, He opened the door to the Father's chambers to us: (Luke 23:45; John 10:9; 14:6; Rom.5:1-2; Eph.2:18; 3:12; Heb.10:19).

Just as the Lord watches over the righteous, His Face is turned against them that do evil. His face is not calm and serene towards them, as it is towards the righteous, but harsh and severe and full of wrath. Please consider this, because on Judgment Day, ALL people will take a turn at standing before Judge Jesus.
