What Does God Want From You?
The Gospel IS found in the Old Testament in MANY places. Genesis 15:6; Isaiah 59:1-2; Isaiah 52:13-53:12; Isaiah 64:6; Leviticus 16; Leviticus 17:10-11; Leviticus 19:2 Ezekiel 18:1-4, 9; Ezekiel 33:17-20; Daniel 12:2-3; Habakkuk 2:4; etc., etc., etc.
<><> What does GOD want from you?
To keep His Laws. Lev. 18:4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. 5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD. (KJV)
<><> If you do what GOD wants, HOW will He judge or honor you?
He will consider you as being just and count you as righteous. Eze. 18:9 Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD. (KJV).
<><> Is GOD'S judgment always fair?
YES!! It is those who criticize GOD'S judgment who are unfair. Eze 33:17-20 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. 18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. 19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. 20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways. (KJV)
<><> What is the result of GOD'S judgment?
It is either life or death, depending on IF you obey OR disobey His Law. Eze. 33:18-19 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. 19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. (KJV)
<><>What is meant by "life" or "death" in this judgment?
It means either eternal life or eternal condemnation. Dan. 12:1-3 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. (KJV)
<><>Is there a responsibility added to that of keeping GOD'S Law?
YES!! We must also convert many others to righteousness. To be regarded as a just person in the Eyes of GOD, we must lead other sinners to Jesus. (Daniel 12:3).
<><>What is the great problem in all of the above?
It all sounds so simple, but there is a very serious problem. NO one correctly obeys God’s Law. There is not one single righteous man (male or female) on Earth who does not sin. So, death comes to all men since no one is just. Isa. 64:6-9 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities. 8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. 9 Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people. (KJV)
Ecc.7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. (KJV)
<><>Can anyone solve this problem?
There is only ONE exception to the statement that all have sinned. This ONE truly just and sinless Man was despised and sent to His death by His fellow men, as a lamb led to the slaughter. He offered His perfect, sinless life as a sin offering for all sinners, and GOD accepted that through this ONE Man who died, that all men that believe in Him can be justified and live.
GOD the Father saw that this was just: that this ONE PERFECT MAN should make atonement and intercession for ALL sinful men who come to GOD through Him. Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. (KJV)
<><>How can you and I personally benefit from this solution?
The same way everyone else down through the ages has ever been justified . . . we must believe in Christ Jesus and have faith in this ONE PERFECT MAN, and follow Him on the path of Light! Gen.15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. . . . He is Abraham! . . . Do YOU believe in the LORD?
Hab.2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. (KJV) . . . Do YOU have faith?
