Messianic Prophecies and Their Fulfillment
Introduction

There are literally hundreds of prophecies in the Old Testament about our precious Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ (Messiah). It simply amazes me at how an event can be announced, then hundreds or even thousands of years later, fulfilled, to the letter! Our one and only Creator God is certainly awesome, to say the least.
Isaiah 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
Former predictions of God, that have been fulfilled, should prove to us that we should trust in Him and Him alone as God. We especially must consider His predictions about Messiah, who is to bring ALL nations to the worship of Almighty God.

Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
Isaiah is not speaking of Cyrus, but to the far greater Deliverer.

Matthew 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
Isaiah can only be speaking of Messiah.

Isaiah 46:9-10 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, [10] Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Israel was tempted to waver between the TRUE God and pagan gods. Are people today not the same? Millions of people worldwide worship everything but God! Isaiah declares the unshared Lordship of God here. God is unique in His knowledge and in His control of the future. His sole purpose is to carry out what He has planned. Whenever we are tempted to chase after anything that promises pleasure, comfort, peace or security apart from God, we must remember that without Him, we are utterly doomed!
Former things clearly means proofs of the sole God-ship of God. We must consider predictions fulfilled, and interventions of God on behalf of Israel.

Isaiah 45:5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
Isaiah 41:22-23 Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come. [23] Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
Can an idol predict what will happen? Can they let us know what and when an event will take place? Can they tell us things that will happen in the future? Can they explain the events of the past, and tell us what they mean? Can they tell us what the future holds? IF they can do this, then we will know that they are gods! If they would do something good or bring some disaster and fill us with fear and awe, then we would know they are gods; but they and all they do are nothing; and those who worship them are absolutely disgusting in the eyes of Almighty God!

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. There is ONLY ONE TRUE God!

The Messiah is predicted so clearly in the Old Testament, over and over again. That is what this booklet is about. I will bring prophecies, then show where they were fulfilled in the New Testament. The clarity of the Bible in reference to Jesus Christ, the Messiah is overwhelming! I have done an extensive study on Messianic Prophecies and their fulfillment. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. This little book cannot hold every prophecy that I found. I will put as many in as I can.

Jesus Christ is the Messiah! Jesus Christ is God! Jesus Christ is eternal! No beginning, no end! Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world, the only Saviour of the world! Jesus Christ is the Seed of the woman (Eve), the Seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jesus Christ is the Seed of the tribe of Judah. Jesus Christ is the Seed of David, and one day shall reign on David’s throne forever!

There are prophecies that tell us what Jesus would be like. There are prophecies that tell us that He is God’s Son. There are prophecies about WHEN He would come, HOW He would be born, HOW He would suffer and HOW He would die. There are prophecies about His time on the cross. How could these prophecies be speaking of anyone other than our precious Lord, Jesus? They could NOT!!! There is not, nor ever has been anyone else who could possibly qualify! Only Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies spoken of Him in the Old Testament. There are NO other rivals offering their Messianic credentials! Many have or will come in His Name, but they have NOT been the Christ, the Messiah! The prophecies identify beyond any doubt that the Messiah fulfilled ALL that the prophets spoke of Him.

Messianic Prophecies and Their Fulfillment
Chapter 1   Seed of the woman, virgin Birth

Christ Jesus is the Seed of the woman.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Her “seed” (Messiah) is of the woman, and is the One who will do the bruising of the serpent’s head. He will be the One to get the victory. Thy seed (the devil’s seed) means not only evil spirits but wicked men who follow Satan (1 John 3:8-10). Her Seed is the Messiah and His church (His people).
Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
God called Abraham and promised to make him a blessing to the world. He made him a blessing to the world through Jesus Christ, a descendant of Abraham. Christ is the One who brought salvation to the world. The word seed refers to Christ (Gen. 22:18). The covenant of promise was NOT made just to Abraham, but to Abraham and his seed (descendants). Christ not having come when the Law was given, the covenant could NOT have been then fulfilled, but awaited the Coming of Him, the Seed, of whom it was spoken. The covenant was not made with "many" seeds but with the ONE seed; therefore, the Promise that in Him "all the families of the earth shall be blessed" (Gen.12:3), joins together in this one Seed (Christ), Jew AND Gentile, as fellow heirs on the SAME terms of acceptability, that being by grace through faith (Rom.4:13); NOT to some by promise, and to others by the Law, but to ALL alike, circumcised (Jews) and uncircumcised (Gentiles), bringing together in just ONE seed . . . Christ (Rom. 4:16). "And if ye be Christ's, ye are Abraham's seed, heirs according to the promise." ONE Seed is Christ! The Promise to Abraham all those years ago is for ALL people, ALL nations!

God with us.

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Immanuel means God with us.
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Born of a virgin.

Jeremiah 31:22 How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the Lord hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.
Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Incarnation of our Lord Jesus.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Romans 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
Gal.4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
Also see: Mat.1:20-23; 2:5-6; Luke 1:31; Col. 1:15; 1 Tim. 3:16; Heb.1:3,6; 1 John 1:1-3.

A Child born who is God!

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
This fantastic verse will pop up many times because it prophesies so many things!

Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
1 Tim. 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

People today are walking in darkness. Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
They CANNOT see the Light of Jesus! People are living in the shadow of death . . . eternal death (Hell). O’ that they would see the great Light of the Messiah and walk with Him in that Light! For only He can save their soul from eternal destruction!

Messianic Prophecies and Their Fulfillment
Chapter 2      Messiah as “Seed”

As Abraham’s Seed, He will bless ALL nations.

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Acts 3:25-26 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. [26] Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

The Seed of Isaac.

Genesis 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. . . . Also see: Gen.17:19; 22:2,18; 26:2-5.
Romans 9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. . . .  Also see: Gal.3:16; Heb.11:18.

Jacob’s Seed.

Genesis 25:24-26 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. [25] And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. [26] And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
1 Chron. 1:34 And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac; Esau and Israel.
Jacob’s name changed to Israel (Gen.32:28; 35:10).
Acts 7:8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
Mat. 1:2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
Isaiah 65:9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.
Heb.7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

David’s Seed.

2 Samuel 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
God was NOT talking about Solomon. God was referring to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Romans 1:3-4 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; [4] And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Psalm 132:11 The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. . . . Also see: Jer.23:5.
Acts 13:23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
Psalm 89:6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the Lord? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the Lord?
God’s Promises are always kept!

Messianic Prophecies and Their Fulfillment
Chapter 3      Messiah as God’s Son

The Son of God.

1 Chron. 22:10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever
This speaks on past Solomon, into the future. This speaks of Messiah and His reign which shall be everlasting.
Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

God’s beloved Son.

Psalm 2:7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
This speaks of the resurrection of Christ, not His virgin birth.
Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
At Jesus’ baptism.
Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
At the Transfiguration of Jesus.
John 12:28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
Before His crucifixion.
Hebrews 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
2 Peter 1:17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Peter verifies what he, James and John heard at the Transfiguration.

Declared to be the Son of God.

Proverbs 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. . . . Jesus’ Words.
Romans 1:2-4 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) [3] Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; [4] And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

God will be Messiah’s Father . . .

1 Chron. 28:6 And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
Messiah will call God His Father.
Psalm 89:26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
He is the mighty God, the Redeemer appointed for us, who alone is able to complete the work of our salvation. Let us strive for the blessings that are readily available to us through Christ.
Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. . . . Jesus’ Words.
Is He revealed to you?

Christ is Just

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 16:5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. . . .  Jesus’ Words.
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Christ has wisdom, understanding.

Isaiah 11:2-5 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3  And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4  But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5  And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
Matthew 22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

Luke 2:47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

Christ is Altogether Lovely

Song 5:16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
Psalm 96:9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
The holiness of the Lord Jesus is beauty indeed!
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
The goodness of Jesus is warm, attracting and inspiring.
Joh 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. . . . Jesus' Words.
John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. . . . Jesus’ Words.

There is nothing harsh or inaccessible with our Lord Jesus. The beauty of His holiness reminds us of a beautiful rose in the early morning dew. His compassion is altogether lovely. Jesus NEVER demanded His rights as so many do in today’s world. It is in the way He responds to repenting sinners that this supreme loveliness of Christ is most sweetly shown. He is so gentle and loving, and His faithfulness never fails. He truly is our beloved Friend! Jesus is a perfect balance of His many perfections. All the elements of a perfect character are in a lovely balance in our awesome Lord. He is loving, yet firm. Consider how He asked the Father to forgive His murderers. He is altogether lovely! He bore our sins in His own body on the tree (1 Pet. 2:24). By Him all that believe are justified from all things (Acts 13:39). He is the ONLY One in this Universe who is altogether lovely.

Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Mat 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. . . . Jesus’ Words.
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Eph. 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
1 Pet. 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Christ is Lord

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Unless we believe God and accept His one and only Way of salvation(Christ), and submit to Him in faithful and willing obedience, making Him our Saviour, Master and Lord, we are doomed to Hell.  We must call Him Master and Lord, because He is! (John 13:13).

Christ is Wonderful

Isaiah 9:6 . . . . and his name shall be called Wonderful, . . . . . . .
Mat. 21:15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,
Rightly Christ Jesus is called Wonderful, for His love and compassion is the amazement of angels and glorified saints.

Christ is our Counsellor

Isaiah 9:6 . . . . and his name shall be called . . . .  Counsellor,
Col. 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Christ, Messiah is unique: exceptional, distinguished, without equal.
He is the only one who can give us the right advice.

Christ is the Mighty God

Isaiah 9:6 . . . . and his name shall be called . . . . The mighty God,
Psalm 45:6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2  The same was in the beginning with God.
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Christ is the everlasting Father

Isaiah 9:6  . . . . and his name shall be called . . . . The everlasting Father,
John 10:30 I and my Father are one. . . . Jesus’ Words.
John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? . . . Jesus’ Words.
Christ Jesus is timeless; He is God our Father.

Christ is the Prince of Peace

Isaiah 9:6 . . . . and his name shall be called . . . . The Prince of Peace.
Eph. 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Only when Christ reigns shall we have peace!

Christ is our Shepherd

Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. . . .  Jesus’ Words.
John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. . . . Jesus’ Words.
Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Our Shepherd knows us! What a wonderful comfort that is!

Christ is called Servant

Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
Mat.12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Christ Jesus (Messiah) is God Himself.

Chapter 6     Christ, the Lamb of God

A Lamb without blemish.

Exodus 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
The Passover Lamb of the Jews in Egypt, looked forward to the Lamb of God (Christ) who would be sacrificed for the sins of the world. It could not be blemished in any way.
1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; [19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

The Blood of the Lamb saves

Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
How I love this verse! When we believe God (1 John 5:10-12) and accept Christ’s Sacrifice on the cross for us, we are covered with the Blood of Jesus. When God sees the precious Blood of Jesus, His Son; He passes over us, just like the death angel passed over the Israelite homes that night in Egypt many years ago. We are exempt from the plague of eternal death.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
John 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

Silent before His accusers.

Isaiah 53:7-b He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Matthew 27:12-14 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. [13] Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? [14] And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

Christ is our Passover.

Exodus 12:21-23 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. [22] And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. [23] For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
1 Cor. 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
Leaven (yeast) in the Bible is a symbol of evil and wickedness. Christ is our Passover Lamb. He is the Perfect Sacrifice for our sin. Because He has delivered us from the slavery of sin, we should have nothing to do with any of the sins of our past. Without holiness we can neither live by faith in Him, nor can we obey His laws with comfort and peace. There should be NO leaven of evil in you, because when Christ comes into our life, we become an "unleavened lump."
As believers, our Passover is NOT limited to one season, but is ALL our time! For the incomparable and supreme benefits of the once-for-all completed Sacrifice of our Passover Lamb extends not to just one particular time of year, but to ALL the time in our lives. In no part of our time as a believer is the leaven of sin and evil to be allowed.

Not a bone of the Lamb to be broken.

There are several verses of prophecy on this subject.
Exodus 12:46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.
No bones to be broken.
Numbers 9:12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of itaccording to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it.
This looked forward to Christ.
Psalm 34:20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
Amazing prophecy of Christ!
John 19:31-36 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. [32] Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. [33] But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: [34] But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. [35] And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. [36] For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
This is a prophecy about Christ when He was crucified. It was the Roman custom to break the legs of the victim to speed death, but . . . not one of Jesus’ bones was broken, just as prophesied!  To me, this is absolutely amazing!   Always Believe God!

Messianic Prophecies and Their Fulfillment
Chapter 7     Christ, the Rock, Cornerstone

Rejected Stone is Head of the Corner.

Psalm 118:22-23 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. [23] This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Mark 12:10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner. . . . Jesus’ Words.
1 Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. . . . Also see: Mat.21:42; Luke 20:17; Acts 4:11; 1 Cor. 3:11;  Ephes. 2:20.

A Stone of stumbling, a Rock of offence.

Isaiah 8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Romans 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
1 Peter 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

He is the Cornerstone.

Psalm 118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Mark 12:10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
Luke 20:17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
Acts 4:11-12 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. [12] Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Eph. 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

Stone cut without hands.

Daniel 2:34-35 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. [35] Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Matthew 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. . . . Jesus’ Words.
Luke 1:32-33 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: [33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

The Spiritual Rock of Israel.

Exodus 17:6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
1 Cor. 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Christ is the Rock

Deut. 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
1 Samuel 2:2 There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Romans 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed
1 Cor. 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
1 Peter 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
Matthew 7:24-25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. . . . Jesus’ Words.
To build “on the rock” means to be a hearing, responding disciple, NOT someone who is  hypocritical, false or superficial. We must practice obedience as we build on the solid Foundation to weather the storms of life. Christ (Messiah) is the Foundation! “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 3:11). When we rest on Christ, we can build on that Foundation. We must yield to the Holy Spirit, for only then can we build a life which the Bible likens to gold, silver, and precious stones (1 Cor. 3:10-17).  People can also build on sand. Sand is human goodness, human effort. It is weakness of the flesh. A building (our life) is only as solid as its foundation. The foundation of a believer’s life must be Jesus Christ. Everything that we are, everything that we do must fit into the pattern provided by Him. Are you building your life on the only real and lasting Foundation, or are you building on a faulty foundation of sand such as wealth, security, success, fame, possessions, pleasure, etc.? When Judgment Day comes, will your building stand or fall?

Messianic Prophecies and Their Fulfillment
Chapter 8     His Suffering, Crucifixion

Isaiah chapter 53 is prophecy on Messiah’s suffering.

Despised, Rejected

Isaiah 53:3-a  He is despised and rejected of men; . . .
Matthew 27:21-23 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. [22] Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. [23] And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. . . .  Also see: Luke 4:28-29

Great sorrow, grief.

Isaiah 53:3-b . . .  a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: . . . .
Matthew 26:36-46 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. [37] And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. [38] Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. [39] And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. [40] And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? [41] Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. [42] He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass way from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. [43] And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. [44] And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. [45] Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. [46] Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
This Passage was our Lord Jesus’ ordeal in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Oppressed, afflicted.

Isaiah 53:7-a He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, . . . .
Matthew 27:27-31 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. [28] And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. [29] And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! [30] And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. [31] And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

God’s will that He bear our sin

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
God compares us to wandering sheep. Yet God the Father would send the Messiah to bring the lost ones back into the fold. Today we are blessed to have the hind sight to see and know the identity of the promised Messiah who has come and died for our sins. But many see all that Jesus did and still reject Him, therefore our sin is much greater than that of the ancient Israelites who couldn’t see what we can clearly see.

God’s will that Christ die.

Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. . . . Jesus’ Words.
John 18:11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
Acts 2:22-24 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: [23] Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: [24] Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Messiah would be rejected by Israel.

Zech. 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Crucifixion of our Lord, Jesus
Serpent on a pole, Christ lifted up.

Numbers 21:8-9 And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. [9] And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
God had sent a plague of poisonous snakes to punish the people for their rebellious attitudes. The Israelites were healed of their sickness of deadly snake bites by looking at the snake on the pole. All believers today can be saved from the sickness of sin by looking to Jesus’ death on the cross. The snake did NOT heal the people, it was their faith, their believing that God could heal them. This was faith in God’s power and was demonstrated by their obedience to God’s instructions. In the same way, we should continue to look to Christ.
John 3:14-18 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. . . . Jesus’ Words.

Christ Forsaken by God

Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, sayingEli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Darkness at Calvary.

Psalm 22:2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Shoot out the lip, shake the head

Psa 22:7-8 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, 8  He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
Matthew 27:39-44 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, [40] And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. [41] Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, [42] He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. [43] He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. [44] The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

Let God deliver Him.

Psalm 22:8 He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
Matthew 27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

Died of a broken heart

Psalm 22:14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
“I am poured out like water” is probably due to the excessive perspiration of a dying man out in that sun. “All my bones are out of joint” . . . it is said that one horrible thing about crucifixion is that when a man began to lose blood, his strength ebbed from him, and all his bones slipped out of joint. I have had a shoulder out of joint and the pain was awful. To have all His bones out of joint would be terrible, terrible suffering. “My heart is like wax.” He died of a broken heart. Doctors have said that a ruptured heart would have produced what John recorded in detail.
John 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

He Suffered thirst.

Psalm 22:15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
John 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

Hands and feet pierced.

Psalm 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
John 19:37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
John 20:25-27 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.  [26] And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. [27] Then saith he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
This is where the saying: “Doubting Thomas” came from.

Stripped and scourged Him

Psalm 22:17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. Jesus was crucified naked. This verse also tells me that he was so badly beaten that His bones were exposed.
What horrendous suffering!
Mark 15:15 And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
John 19:1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
The whips used was supposedly a “cat of nine tails” which had 9 lashes with pieces of bone in the ends. This rip the flesh horribly, thus exposing the bones.

Parted His garments

Psalm 22:18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
John 19:23-24 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. [24] They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

Ridiculed

Psalm 109:25 I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.
Matthew 27:39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

His Back whipped.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
This is NOT speaking of our physical healing! This speaks of our spiritual healing. Many today are teaching the “name it, claim it” false doctrine. God does NOT promise us good health or that we be wealthy.
Matthew 27:26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.
1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Only when we believe God (1 John 5:10-12) and accept His one and only Way of salvation (John 3:3,15-18,36; 14:6; Acts 4:12), by believing Jesus took our place on the cross, can we be healed SPIRITUALLY by His stripes.

Suffering and reproach at Calvary.

Psalm 102:2-5  Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily. [3] For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth. [4] My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread. [5] By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.  This predicts the suffering and humiliation facing His great work as our Sin-bearer. We have here in prophecy ‘the prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears’ of Gethsemane (Heb. 5:7).
Luke 22:39-46 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. [40] And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. [41] And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, [42] Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. [43] And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. [44] And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. [45] And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, [46] And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
I cannot comprehend the suffering that our Lord Jesus endured. He could have easily called angels to rescue Him from His agony. In reality, He did not need twelve legions (regiments), all He would have needed was one angel (Rev.20:1) to stop the torture He was going through.

Matthew 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?   Jesus’ Words.
Have you ever thought of the love Jesus has in His heart? NO one could love us more than Jesus! NO one! He left the safety and glory of Heaven; gave up His rights as God while He was Man here on Earth; and all the while knowing exactly what would happen to Him.  John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.  Jesus’ Words.
I pray that if you do not know Jesus, that you will carefully consider just who and what He is. Only Christ (Messiah) has Heaven’s key! Believe this!

Messianic Prophecies and Their Fulfillment
Chapter 9     His Resurrection Predicted.

Christ victorious over death

Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
1 Cor. 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

He would not see corruption.

Psalm 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
John 20:9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
Acts 13:36-37 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: [37] But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
David could not be the subject of his own prediction. David died and was buried and his body saw corruption and decay (Job 19:26). The proper fulfillment of Psalm 16:10 was in the resurrection of the uncorrupted body of the Son of God, who absolutely is God's "Holy One."

His resurrection predicted.

Psalm 49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me.
Matthew 20:19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
Jesus Himself clearly stated He would rise from the dead!
Luke 24:6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Christ is alive!

The Book of Jonah speaks of Jesus’ Resurrection

Jonah 2:10 And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. . . . Jesus’ Words.

The more I study the Word of God, the more I realize just how little I know. The more I study the Word of God, the more I realize just how awesome God is. He never lies! So we can believe ALL He says!

Chapter 10    Salvation through Messiah

Salvation

Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Rev. 22:17 God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

NO OTHER LORD except Jesus!
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. . . . Jesus’ Words. Christ Jesus is the Messiah for ALL people: red, yellow, black or white; any and ALL nations! There is NO OTHER Saviour except Him!
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Salvation in NO OTHER except Jesus!

Salvation for Israel.

Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
Luke 2:29-32 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: [30] For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, [31] Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; [32] A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
Messiah saves Jews AND Gentiles!

A Light for the Gentiles.

Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
Acts 13:47  For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
Messiah to bring Good News
Isaiah 52:7  How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
Luke 2:10-11 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. [11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
The Good News is that Jesus saves!

Salvation is for ALL people

Isaiah 52:10 The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Luke 3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Israel’s Salvation cometh

Isaiah 62:11 Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
The salvation of Israel is part of God’s overall plan of salvation. We are required to present the Gospel to every Jew. The Messiah is their Saviour!
Luke 1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
Luke 1:77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, His people are the Jews!
Luke 2:30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Simeon could die in peace because he had seen the Messiah.
Luke 3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
Luke 19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
Zacchaeus was  a cheating tax collector, but he was converted. All sins can be forgiven.

Messiah would bring salvation.

Zec. 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
The Triumphal Entry of Jesus riding into Jerusalem (Mat.21:1-11) was predicted more than 500 years before it happened.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. . . . Jesus’ Words.

Messianic Prophecies and Their Fulfillment
Chapter 11        Messiah’s Kingdom

To establish an everlasting Kingdom.

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Luke 1:32-33 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: [33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Highly exalted, everlasting.

Daniel 7:13-14 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. [14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Luke 1:31-33 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. [32] He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: [33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Eph. 1:20-22 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, [21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: [22] And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Kingdom for the saints.

Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
1 Cor. 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
Rev. 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Only in Messiah’s reign can there be peace.

Isaiah 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Rev. 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Messianic Prophecies and Their Fulfillment
Chapter 12        Messiah’s Glory

Moses saw Messiah’s Glory

Exodus 33:18-23 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. [19] And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. [20] And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. [21] And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: [22] And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: [23] And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
Romans 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Ezekiel saw it.

Ezekiel 1:28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
Ezekiel 43:2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.

Some apostles saw it.

Matthew 17:1-2 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, [2] And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. Peter, James and John saw Messiah’s Glory.
Rev. 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
The apostle John again sees His glory.
Rev. 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
Rev. 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

Daniel saw Messiah’s Glory

Daniel 7:9-12 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. [10] A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. [11] I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. [12] As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
Rev. 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; John saw His Glory.
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Some believe that there was an apocryphal Book of Enoch. This book was lost for some centuries with the exception of a few fragments, but was supposedly found in its entirety in a copy of the Ethiopic Bible in 1773. It includes revelations supposedly to have been given to Enoch and Noah. Its object is to defend the ways of divine providence, to set forth the penalty reserved for sinners, and to show that the world is under the immediate government of God.
Daniel 10:5-9 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: [6] His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. [7] And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. [8] Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength. [9] Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
Rev. 1:13-15 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. [14] His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; [15] And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Isaiah saw His Glory

Isaiah 6:1-3 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. [2] Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. [3] And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
John 12:40-41 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. [41] These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
One day ALL shall see the Glory of the Lord!
Acts 28:25-26 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, [26] Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

Glory of the Lord departs the Temple

Ezekiel 10:4 Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord's glory.
Ezekiel 10:18 Then the glory of the Lord departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.
Ezekiel 11:23 And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. God’s Glory left Jerusalem and stood the Mount of Olives.
Ezekiel 43:1-4 implies that God will return the same way He left, when He comes back to Earth to set up His perfect kingdom (Zec.14:4), but they absolutely refuse to believe that God will judge people and condemn them to Hell. Millions of people think there is no Hell. They are WRONG!!! It is a great tragedy that pastors today ignore the fact that judgment is coming upon this Earth. God’s past judgments is absolute proof of His existence. Pastors and teachers have an obligation to Almighty God to teach the entire Gospel! There IS a Hell and MOST people will find it to be their eternal destiny on the Day of Judgment (Mat.7:13-14).There are just two ways: right and wrong, good and evil; the way to Heaven and the way to Hell. In one of these roads, ALL are people walking. There is NO middle place in eternity, and NO middle road to walk on Earth now. You CANNOT straddle the fence! People are either saints or sinners, godly or ungodly. Which are you?

Glory not seen again until the Birth of Jesus

Luke 2:9-11 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. [10] And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. [11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
"The Word is made flesh" When? "This day." Where? "In the city of David." In the right time, the right "place," exactly what Old Testament prophecy foretold.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
God’s Glory returned. What happened? Sinful man crucified Him! So His Glory retreated again, but He shall return! Are you ready for Him to come again? Mat.24:40-42.

The TRUTH about SALVATION

How does a person get to Heaven? Some teach that if the good things you do outweigh the bad, God will let you in. That is FALSE! If you believe that, you are headed for Hell (John 3:16, 36; 8:24; 14:6).

There is only ONE Way to Heaven according to the Bible. That is faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ. You could NEVER do enough good deeds in 100 life times to permit you access to Heaven. You could NEVER buy your way to Heaven with all the money in the world. You can NEVER perform enough rituals or sacraments no matter what church you belong to. Faith in Christ is the only way.

The Bible tells us we all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom.3:23. Since God allows nothing bad or evil to enter Heaven (Rev.21:8, 22:15), NO sinner is permitted. We must first believe God, and trust and accept what Jesus did for us on the cross. Only then will the Father credit our account with the righteousness of His Son (1 Cor.1:30; Rom.3:22, 25-26). Only our faith can make us right in God’s eyes, just as Abraham’s faith made him right in God’s eyes all those many years ago (Rom. 3:25-26; 4:3,5-6, 9,22; Gal.3:6).

We have NO righteousness of our own (Isa.64:6). Any righteousness we possess must come through faith in Christ (Philip. 3:9; Rom.5:1-2).

If you think you can EARN your way to Heaven, if you think you can establish your own righteousness, you are dreadfully wrong! Jesus paid it all! IF you could earn your way to Heaven, then our precious Lord Jesus died for nothing!

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

If we could be saved by keeping the law, or doing good, then there was no need for Christ to die.

God is pure and holy. We are vile sinners, actually we are His enemies. God cannot even look at sin. We must be made “right” in His eyes to have fellowship with Him. Only acceptance of Jesus justifies us, gives us access to the Father and makes us His friends (Rom.5:1-10). There is NO other way! Many say that Way is too narrow (Mat.7:13-14). But friend, that Way, God’s Way is wide enough for the whole world if they choose to walk it!

Many who seek God are confused about what He wants them to do. False teachers are always more than willing to give many answers to this question. But salvation really is simple. Pleasing God does not come from any work we do, but from Whom we believe. You must believe Jesus is who He claims to be and will do what He said He will do. We must, like Peter, believe He is the Christ, the Son of the living God (Mat.16:16).
John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? [29] Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. The only “work” God desires of us is to believe Him!

Salvation is a Gift (Rom.6:23; Eph.2:8-9)! It is absolutely FREE to “whosoever.” John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Only Jesus has the KEY to Heaven! IF we believe in Him, we have everlasting life in Heaven. Believe God! (1 John 5:10-12).

WHO SHALL DWELL WITH THEE

Lord, who shall dwell in Thy Holy Hill?
Just those who love You, and do Your will.
Lord, You clearly state who that will be,
Your Holy Book tells us, so clearly!

We must walk uprightly, on our path,
If we are to avoid, Your righteous wrath.
We must work righteousness, as we go,
Or Your displeasure, will cause us sorrow.

We must speak the Truth, we must not lie,
Or on Your blessings, we cannot rely.
Our tongue must not blaspheme, or backbite,
Our speech should always, be good and upright.

To our neighbor, we must do no wrong,
O Lord, Your Words on this, are quite strong.
We must not take reproach, to those around,
If we want Your blessings to abound.

Contemned is a vile person, in Your eyes,
Only Jesus, can ev’r make them wise.
Lord, You honor all those, that fear you,
Trust and obey, is what we should do!
